Together ... We Can!

As your 2012 C.A.R. President, I am using my 36 years of leadership experience on the local, state, and national levels to help solve the many critical issues facing our industry and helping to seize opportunities for our membership. 

I have a proven track record of leadership and results that this important job requires:  I have served on or helped lead over 70 committees and task forces at the California and National Association of REALTORS®.  I have traveled to Washington D.C. more than 25 times within the past nine years helping N.A.R. lobby congressional leaders to advance legislation for F.H.A. reform and other issues important to our association and members.  I helped produce the Housing Affordability Tool Kit and recently chaired C.A.R. policy on Affordable Rental Housing.  On November 30, 2007, I testified before a congressional committee in Los Angeles, chaired by Congresswoman Maxine Waters, on foreclosure prevention and intervention.  For a complete list of my activities and accomplishments, click here.

But what is really important is what I want to do now.  That is why I have developed, with a lot of input from our members, the following six goals:

1.  Ensure a continued and strong flow of capital into the real estate financial markets.

2.  Support and enhance the relationship between REALTORS® and consumers.

3.  Maintain C.A.R. as the Voice of Real Estate and as the most reliable and comprehensive source of real estate information.

4.  Improve the competency and professionalism of REALTORS®.

5.  Promote and support public policies that advance the real estate industry, private property rights, sustainable property ownership, and housing opportunities.

6.  Work to improve the transaction process.

We all know how important team work is in real estate and we all know that working together makes every challenge easier to tackle and solve.  As your 2012 C.A.R. President, my focus as a leader continues to push teamwork because by working  together ... we can  do anything!
